When I cannot reach him

The silence is heavy today, and I bring my worry straight to You. Days pass without a word, and my mind rushes to fill the quiet, wondering if he is well or if I have drifted to the edges of his life. I want to reach out just to hear his voice and know he is all right, but I cannot force him to bridge this distance.

When I cannot reach him, Father, I take comfort in knowing that Your eye rests on those who hope in Your loving devotion. I am placing my hope in that love right now, trusting You to see him when he is far from my sight. You do not need him to pick up a phone to know what he needs. You see his burdens, his busy moments, and his quiet spaces. Relieve me of the illusion that my son is only safe when I know exactly what he is doing.

Calm my anxious thoughts and keep me from holding his silence against him. Give him space to navigate the adulthood I spent years preparing him for. When the urge to pry or demand a response becomes too strong, gently turn my attention back to Your love.

Watch over him today. Let him feel the anchor of my love without feeling the weight of my expectations. And whenever he is ready to share his day with me again, let me answer with a warm and open heart, leaving his daily steps in Your steady hands until then.
