Held in Prayer

Privacy

What this site records

The site keeps its own simple log of the pages visited and the links followed, including links to Amazon, along with which browser was used. It does not store your IP address; it keeps a scrambled code made from it, which cannot be turned back into the address, so repeat visits can be counted.

The site uses Google Analytics to see how people find and use it. On the homepage, the book pages and the email signup pages only, it also uses the Meta pixel, so we can tell whether our Facebook and Instagram posts reach people. The Meta pixel is never used on the prayer pages, the review page or the note to the author.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Meta pixel does not load and Google Analytics does not use your visit for advertising. Visitors with a European time zone get neither tool.

Email

If you sign up for prayers by email, we keep your email address and, if you give it, your first name, and we send them to EmailOctopus, the service that sends our emails. Every email has a link to unsubscribe and a link to choose which emails you get, so you can hear less from us without leaving altogether. We never sell or share your address.

Notes to the author

A note you send from the review page goes only to the author. It is shown on this site only if you tick the box allowing it, and then only with your first name.
