When he is hurting

When he is anxious

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

When my son’s mind will not settle, draw near to him, Father. I ache for the strain he carries because I know that tightness too, the thoughts circling long after the room has gone quiet, the body braced for what may never come.

Give him room to breathe in Your presence. When one concern gathers another and every possibility feels urgent, help him bring each one to You without embarrassment or fear. Receive the requests he can name and the distress he cannot explain. Let gratitude return gently, not as a denial of what troubles him, but as a remembrance that he is still held and still loved.

Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Quiet the voice that tells him he must solve everything tonight. Give him wisdom for what needs attention, patience for what cannot be settled yet, and courage to seek help when anxiety becomes too much to carry alone.

Keep me tender toward him. May I listen without rushing to reassure, advise, or compare his struggle with my own. Show me when to speak and when simply to stay near.

Let Your peace meet my son in the middle of unfinished questions. May it steady his breathing, loosen fear’s grip, and give him rest enough for this day.
