When his life is hard

When he is addicted

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John 8:36

I am tired, Lord. Loving my son through addiction has left part of me always listening for the phone, always braced for news I do not want to receive. Meet me in this exhaustion, and keep fear from consuming every quiet hour.

Have mercy on my son. Break through denial, secrecy, and the false comfort that keeps calling him back. Give him a clear moment in which truth becomes harder to avoid than help. Put trustworthy people near him who understand recovery and will not flatter, shame, or abandon him. Give him courage to accept treatment, to tell the truth, and to begin again as often as he must.

Jesus, You speak of freedom that is deeper than willpower. I ask for that freedom for my son, without pretending I know how or when his road will unfold. Protect his life today. Guard others who may be wounded by his choices. Let consequences lead toward honesty without crushing him beneath disgrace.

Teach me the difference between love and rescue. Help me keep wise boundaries without hardening my heart, and keep compassion from becoming permission for harm. When I have no new words, receive the prayer beneath my silence. Stay near to my son in every struggle, and keep a door open toward truth, help, and life.
